My 2 kids

Here are my two kids, the cheeky monkeys, the reason for my living, life in my life. My world revolves around them, most of the time. The wee one is a year old (tomorrow) and his big brother five. They're meant to be 100% girls, according to me, but I was wrong. But I would'nt change them for the world. I adore them to bits, sometimes I wish they'll stay that age forever but, that is not fair, is it! One day they're gonna be teen agers... then adults... Oh well never mind, enjoy them at this age, eh..! Every second is precious..

Room 101

I was watching this tv program called Room 101 a few months ago. God, I would have loved to be in it; that room would have been full of these creatures, living and non living

  • animals that start with the letter s (thats for you to find out) , especially these little slimy buggers - SLUGS... they always infest my garden (and my kitchen), can't bloody get rid of them. On a good day if I see them I just leave them be, but on a bad day.. you don't want to know! No really, you don't
  • husband and wife team of "celebs", Posh and Becks and Dosh and Pecks (aka Jordan and Peter Andre), they really annoy me. Talentless celebrities that you see everytime on tv, in the papers, mags... mind you there's a lot of them here in Britain
  • traffic wardens that loiter the streets. We see them everyday carrying their "little gadget that issues a parking ticket". Honestly, they are like.. vultures! I'm sure I'm not alone on this. I know, they're only doing their job, but there are other jobs out there, aside from making people miserable. Please come out of the dark side!
  • CCTV- beware, big brother is watching you
  • George Bush. Without a doubt.

Anymore, anyone?

UNTITLED 1

I admit, I'm an amateur to blogging. I'm no" techno savvy", nor am I a writer. One thing though; I've been through a lot and I have got a story to tell . And if that's not reason enough to blog I don't know what is. So if you are reading this,(there must be someone out there) read on, spare me a few minutes , and feel free to leave a comment if you must.

First thing first, I did not blog just to tell all the good details, that would be hypocritical of me. Every now and then, I'll blog about my family, ie, my experiences as a mother, my sometimes overbearing husband (hello dear), even conversations to my mother . Most of the time, be warned, I will be moaning. Don't get me wrong, I'm a very petient person, but sometimes I just have to shout it out. If I'm in a good mood, I might share some of my favourite recipes, or if I'm extremely bored (or dont know what to blog about) I'll share some jokes. Not to mention, some photos for proof(?). Ok.

PS. I'll try to write twice a week from now on and I'll try to be polite in the most possible way. Alright?

Buhay sa Shire

This day marks my ninth year in Britain, almost a quarter of my adult life. It has been a good life for me but not without problems; I got married here, have 2 gorgeous kids, been there, done that, got the t-shirt...and the journey goes on.

Looking back, I can still remember that first autumn feeling, so drab and gray and cold. It looks lovely on a sunny day though, like this picture I've taken from Burnham Beeches, 10 miles from where we live. And winter was the worst. Alas tres pa lang nang hapon e madilim na. It took me quite a while to adjust to this kind of weather. In fact, I still suffer from an occasional sad (seasonal affective disorder), and its not a nice feeling. Thank God for spring and the phenomenal summer.

Thing about me is I am passionate about food, but British food is nothing to get excited about really, it's an acquired taste. And would you believe it, the nations favourite food is curry. Ever heard of marmite, jellied eel, brussel sprouts, black pudding and haggis? Try it then tell me; you'll either love it or hate it. No wonder there's a lot of speciality restaurant mushrooming about. But they make lovely puddings though, sticky toffee pudding is to die for!

The hardest thing I have to go through is the way of life. Until I found myself a job, aside from my family, friends were hard to find. The accent was a problem too, there must be hundreds of accents around. And sometimes a word would mean another thing ; say like pants is not a trouser, it's an underwear. And nowadays, Pinoys are'nt very hard to find; just go to the local hospital, supermarket, hundredth house in the street..., WE'RE EVERYWHERE. And its a good thing. The Philippine community holds a Filipino Barrio Fiesta in the middle of July in London, and it's a fabulous occasion, we have to be there.

So there. I can go on and on but I won't.

And one last thing ; who's your favourite Brit?

Mga Hiling ni Pining

This is the beginning.. I thought I'll start with my wishlist. Before I start moaning.

  • peace on earth (so under rated)

  • win the lottery (to help every kamag-anak)

  • that my 2 lovely boys stay as lovely as they are

  • to be more creative, interesting, lovable, huggable and whathaveyou

  • that the Philippines be one of the superpowers by the year 2040 ( you'll never know)

  • to be the best mum ever

  • to be an obedient wife

  • a date with Christian Bale would be great ( i'm sure he wont mind)

  • that one day someone would invent a dessert with nought calorie

  • that the waistline wont go beyond 32" limit

  • that hubby would go back to his former self (that's him a few years back)
    Amen.
